We at College Rifles see the U21s grade as an integral part to the success of our great club! Therefore, we ensure that this grade has ample resources as well as the correct people in place to make sure this grade is a successful one.
This grade is primarily designed for young men that are making the jump from secondary school to club rugby, and wish to grow and develop their skills. Ages for this grade range from 17-21 years.
College Rifles has been prominent in the competition with two championships, three semi-finals and top 4 finishes in the last few seasons. This grade is an important role as the ‘nursery’ for all premier and senior players of the future and many sample Premier Rugby during their tenure at this level.
In recent years this grade has helped develop players that have now pushed onto higher honours such as Zarn Sullivan (Auckland NPC 2020-2021, Auckland Blues 2020-2022), Kitiona Vai (NZ7s 2020-2021, Auckland NPC 2021) and Meihana Grindlay (Taranaki NPC 2021) as a few names.
We as a club take a lot of pride in ensuring that we create and extremely positive environment for our young men, to ensure that they grow both on and off the field. We are dedicated to ensuring that we accommodate for all skill levels, aspirations and goals within this grade, by providing top class coaching and an awesome time off the field.
This grade is about welcoming these young men into the Rifles family.
